Spring Track & Field Season

groupThe Walton Youth Track Club is a track and field club for girls and boys in elementary, middle and high school, which participates in USATF sanctioned meets. No prior experience with running competitively is required to participate on the WYTC team.

Regular track and field practices take place at the Sope Creek Elementary School track on Tuesday (6:15 to 7:15 p.m.) and Thursday (6:15 to 7:15 p.m.) evenings and at the Walton High School track on Sunday (5:30 to 6:45 p.m.) afternoons. Our club will participate in 4 to 5 developmental meets, which will take place on Saturdays in April and May. WYTC also participates in the USATF Junior Olympic series of competitive meets, which take place through the summer.

 

Registration for 2017 Track and Field is CLOSED as our roster is full. We are no longer collecting names on our Waiting List for this season, as this list is also full.

Our program is designed to introduce kids to sprint and distance running and field events by providing an experience that is fun, competitive, social, and informative about the sport.

  • 800m
  • 1500m
  • 3,000m
  • 4x100m Relay
  • 4x400m Relay

Field events include:

  • shot put
  • running long jump
  • high jump
  • javelin
